Makes: Patchwork Stories
Patchwork: The craft of sewing in which small pieces of cloth in different colours, patterns, sizes, and shapes are sewn together.
I have always been the one to choose and collect pieces of fabric with no project in mind, simply because I like them. So, I have come to the decision to finally start using my fabric stockpile to make these fun patchwork dresses.
As I continue working on the patchwork moments some may come out within colour scenes, and vibes but at the moment they are colourful and extra just how I like it.
The biggest thing with this is that I don’t want heaps of waste. This project should help me reduce my scraps and generally the amount of fabric I’m storing. So at this point the style of the patchwork will be indicative of what’s in my fabric stock
Features of the dress:
- Loose smock style dresses with tiered gathered skirts. Perfect for twirling and frolicking.
- I have designed them with evenly spaced tie up straps so that each dress has 4 potential front panels – very versatile.
- They will come in 3 lengths – Eventually – knee length, midi and maxi.
I have a few dresses up and available for purchase.
